We had the auction yesterday. It was amazing to watch our work being auctioned but also to watch Banksy's work being sold which in total went for a record sale of £545000. Anyways back to the chair. Here are some snap shots of what happened.

Hi Tom
I noticed your comment about the buyer 'whose going to push all the
noses out and sell it on EBAY'
As I met you at bohams after buying the chair I didn't think I gave that impression (although I was surprised how low the bidding was)
The chair now sits along side my
'68 vintage Panton chair (yes a real original) so you can guess I have no intention of selling it on!
The funny thing is that I do not let people sit on the Panton and I
thought The Chair That Grows would be great fun for my children. Unfortunately when they sat on it the red noses fell out. So that means I now have two chairs that can't be used as chairs, only as pieces of art!
I may use the char to do some morefundraising for CIN at my children's school
Thanks for a wonderful and unique piece of art.
PS have you seen David Homer's Hairy Bertoia chairs?
Andrew
Hi Andrew,
Apoligies for the comment about you selling the chair on EBAY. Once we heard that you knew what you were buying and the fact that you had been looking for a bertoia we naturally thought that the chair may of been pulled apart. It was also a bit of a jokey comment.
Its nice to know that the chair has gone to a good home and will be valued as a piece of art. Its a shame to hear that you will not be able to use it sit on as we were pretty sure the noses would stay in the chair.
If you pursue the fundraising please let me know how you do.
I have now ammended the blog and apoligies again.
Kind Regards
Tom
Tom,
No worries, thanks for the reply...I realised there was some jokiness to the comment, but I wanted to make sure that I wasn't misunderstood.
There was no need to amend the comment......
Still loving the chair!
